BTAn enthralling day with a spectacular mix of history, architecture, flora and fauna, and breathtaking scenery. Raymond Terrace, Seaham, Clarencetown and Dungog all have their fascinating stories to tell as we travel up the Williams River Valley to Barrington Tops National Park.
You’ll enjoy morning tea at a delightful spot on the banks of the Williams River and a typically Australian country-style lunch at historic Barrington Guest House, where birds, kangaroos and other fauna abound. You’ll be awestruck at the immensity of some of the Sydney Blue Gums, Turpentines, and other rainforest trees.
After lunch we’ll enchant you even further as we drive the forest roads to show you the Barrington Tops from as near as one can get in a bus. We’ll take you on a short-walk guided tour through a segment of tall closed forest along the banks of the beautiful Allyn River, where again you’ll marvel at the strangler figs and other magnificent trees. Finally, we’ll visit a colony of Eastern Water Dragons as we travel home down the beautiful Allyn River Valley via Gresford, Vacy, and Paterson, taking in some of the absorbing history of these early river towns.
